Now is the time to act.

Eleven million children younger than age five are in some form of child care for an average of 36 hours each week. Regardless of whether child care is provided in a center or a family home, it is an essential component of daily life for millions of American families, but quality care is expensive. The cost of child care in every state rivals families’ annual expenditures on almost every other household expense, including housing, transportation, and even the cost of tuition at a four-year, public university.

We know so much about the developing brain and the lasting positive impact that the quality of child care and other early learning settings have on children’s development. The importance of affordable, high-quality child care impacts all of us. Child care plays an important role in the economy, helping to generate 15 million jobs and more than $500 billion in income annually. Families need child care so they can work, go to school, or access work-related training and children need a safe and nurturing place where they can learn and continue their healthy development.

That’s why your donation to Child Care Aware® of America is truly an investment in America’s future. Together, we can make a real impact this election year. No matter the amount, every donation counts.

Again, thank you for sharing this eight-week journey with us. We look forward to you joining us in investing in America’s future.
