Child Care Aware® of America is the only non-profit organization that focuses exclusively on child care and child care issues. After nearly two decades of concerted legislative efforts, raising the issues of quality, cost, and safe of child care before key policymakers and influencers, Child Care Aware® of America finally celebrated the passage of the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) Reauthorization legislation.
President Obama, in his State of the Union address in January 2015 acknowledged child care as a “national economic priority.” Now more than ever, our messages are being heard and people are listening. However, families are still struggling with how to pay for quality child care, where to find affordable child care that provides early learning opportunities during the most critical years of a child’s development, and where to go to find resources.
Child Care Aware® of America is our nation’s leading voice for child care. We work with state and local Child Care Resource and Referral agencies (CCR&Rs) and other community partners to ensure that all families have access to quality, affordable child care. Stay up to date on all things related to child care and early education legislation through the Child Care Aware® of America Public Policy Blog, written by CCAoA’s public policy staff.
