Ann McCully joined Child Care Aware® of Minnesota as Executive Director in April 2002. During her time with the agency, the statewide system has gone through significant changes in the structure of its service delivery, and the work of the coordinating agency has expanded to include direct support programs such as the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Scholarship program, the R.E.E.T.A.I.N. workforce retention grant program, the Eager-to-Learn online training program, and the Parent Aware quality rating and improvement system.
Prior to joining Child Care Aware®, Ann served as the Midwest Director of Government Relations and Advocacy for the American Cancer Society. In this capacity, she managed the advocacy staff and programs for a four-state area. She also spent six years as the organization’s Minnesota Advocacy Director.
Ann’s other job experience includes fundraising and communications positions with the American Cancer Society, community organizing work with the West Bank Community Development Corporation in Minneapolis, and education and outreach support at the Guthrie Theater. She has also volunteered on community arts projects as part of the Minneapolis Arts Commission, and on local political campaigns.
Ann has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Communications from the University of Minnesota, and a Mini-MBA for Nonprofits from the University of St. Thomas. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband and has 2 children.
