National Aggregate Charts: Child Care Centers and Family Child Care Homes

These charts feature family engagement indicators used to assess quality in child care centers and family child care homes in QRIS programs throughout the nation. The charts report on 13 indicators found in the QRIS Compendium (written communication, parent handbook, initial/intake/orientation meeting, bulletin board, child assessment results shared with families, strengthening families checklist, parent surveys, parent advisory board, activities with families, parent/teacher conferences, parent education, related training, and community resource list). These indicators were then categorized across the four key features (communication, family needs and feedback inform program, collaborative activities with families, and community resources and family support) identified in the State of Family Engagement in QRIS Efforts brief (PDF). These two charts represent a nationwide snapshot of those indicators being assessed in QRIS for child care centers and family child care homes as of 2015.
